Objective

Preparing, developing & updating of a National Water Resources Master Plan in order to achieve long term social, economic & environmental development goals of the country.

Functions

• Development of a National Water Resource Master Plan to achieve the long term economic, social, environmental and development goals of the country.
• Basin studies for prioritized river basins and preparation of river basin plans.
• Updating and Reviewing Water Resources Master Plan from time to time based on river basin studies.
• Identify water resources development projects & carrying out Hydrological analysis.
• Updating Water Resources Master Plan to cater for drinking water requirements as per co-operate plan of National Water Supply & Drainage Board (NWS&DB).
• Providing consultancy services to other Governmental organizations in water resources planning upon request.
