The area of Vavuniya / Mannar Irrigation Region consists of Vavuniya, Mannar, Kilinochchi, Mullaithivu& Jaffna Administrative Districts. Under the supervision of the Regional Irrigation Director, there are three Irrigation Engineer Divisions located to carry out the functions of the Irrigation Department. These divisions are namely Vavuniya, Murunkan & Silavathurai. Each of these divisions are manned by a Divisional Irrigation Engineer and technical staff under his supervision. These Irrigation Engineers Divisions are further divided into several Irrigation Units to manage operation and maintenance activities efficiently and effectively to the farming community.
The total Irrigable Area of this Irrigation Region is 46,170 ac and it consists of 10 Nos of Irrigation Schemes.
The area of Trincomalee Irrigation Region fully consists of Trincomalee Administrative District. Under the supervision of the Regional Irrigation Director, there are three Irrigation Engineer Divisions located to carry out the functions of the Irrigation Department. These divisions are namely Kanthale, Muthur & Morawewa. Each of these divisions are manned by a Divisional Irrigation Engineer and technical staff under his supervision. These Irrigation Engineers Divisions are further divided into several Irrigation Units to manage operation and maintenance activities efficiently and effectively to the farming community.
The total Irrigable Area of this Irrigation Region is 62,462 ac and it consists of 09 Nos of Irrigation Schemes.
The area of Polonnaruwa Irrigation Region fully consists of Polonnaruwa Administrative District. Under the supervision of the Regional Irrigation Director, are four Irrigation Engineer Divisions located to carry out the functions of the Irrigation Department. These divisions are namely Polonnaruwa, Minneriya, Kaudulla & Elahera. Each of these divisions are manned by a Divisional Irrigation Engineer and technical staff under his supervision. These Irrigation Engineers Divisions are further divided into several Irrigation Units to manage operation and maintenance activities efficiently and effectively to the farming community.
The total Irrigable Area of this Irrigation Region is 89,055 ac and it consists of 13 Nos of Irrigation Schemes.
The area of Puttalam Irrigation Region fully consists of Puttalam Administrative District. Under the supervision of the Regional Irrigation Director, there are two Irrigation Engineer Divisions located to carry out the functions of the Irrigation Department. These divisions are namely Puttalam & Inginimitiya. Each of these divisions are manned by a Divisional Irrigation Engineer and technical staff under his supervision. These Irrigation Engineers Divisions are further divided into several Irrigation Units to manage operation and maintenance activities efficiently and effectively to the farming community.
The total Irrigable Area of this Irrigation Region is 17,613 ac and it consists of 14 Nos of Irrigation Schemes.
The area of Moneragala Irrigation Region fully consists of Moneragala Administrative District. Under the supervision of the Regional Irrigation Director, there are four Irrigation Engineer Divisions located to carry out the functions of the Irrigation Department. These divisions are namely Moneragala, Wellawaya, Bibile & Welioya. Each of these divisions are manned by a Divisional Irrigation Engineer and technical staff under his supervision. These Irrigation Engineers Divisions are further divided into several Irrigation Units to manage operation and maintenance activities efficiently and effectively to the farming community.
The total Irrigable Area of this Irrigation Region is 19,978 ac and it consists of 35 Nos of Irrigation Schemes.
